This man knows how to handle a rod!

Check it out. I’m going outside to practice now

And the winner is…

Tony Kjellsson, 25 from Umeå Sweden, is the happy winner of a trip to Las Buitreras, Patagonia. Also known as the Seatrout Capital of the world.

Loop arranged a competition during the year where all consumers that purchased our products for a certain amount at some Pro Shops could participate in the lottery of a trip to Argentina with Loop Adventures. Christer Sjöberg, our founder and guru, called the happy winner Tony yesterday to give him the news

– I cant remember when i was this happy before I got the phone call.    My pulse has been around 180 after the call, Tony writes.

– I would also like to thank the shop Fiskecentrum in Umeå. without them this would not have happened.

Congratulations to Tony, from the entire Loop Staff!

Loop in Romania

We received a report from Romania where great things happen. Last week the Fly Fishing Days Zetea took place. Romanias eleven fly fishing clubs got together and formed Romanian Fly Federation. A great initiative.

Loop was represented by “Rod” Thomas Berggren, who gave a appreciated casting demo and a workshop. Thomas talked about how lines and rods are made and how they can be used.

TV was represented by The Fishing and Hunting Channel, who made a story that will be shown in Eastern Europe.

This is how it can look when fly fishing is shown and presented with passion

Loop Opti Switch

What do you call a combination of a single hand and a double hand rod? We call it Opti Switch, and it is a suiting name of the 8 class, 10.7 feet long power reserve that we took for a spin at the pond, a cold October morning.

As a single hand rod, Opti Switch is a long rod with great features. Even if the ”butt” sticks out below the reel, it does not bother me. As a single it works great as a heavy rod for salmon and sea trout. The scene might be a low water summer river in Norway, or a Danish sea trout stream.

It is however as a ”switch” rod the Opti sticks out. After a while of fishing, you will probably go for the double hand grip. And when you do, things happen! The power reserve moves some steps down the rod. And it feels all the way down in the grip. More running line is needed because the line is moving east with fantastic speed.

Opti Switch can be summarized as a rod with possibilities. It is a perfect choice when we need a rod that covers different fishing situations without neglecting performance as a single or a double handed rod.

Loop The Story

Testimonial from flyfisher Rebekka Redden – Ontario, Canada

About a year ago I started using Loop fly rods and reels – and prior to that I was using top name brand gear with great reputations.

After I had the experience of using Loop gear – I fell in love!
It’s very evident that Loop has put their heart and soul into making sure their product is made to the highest standard. They are built to withstand the toughest elements and endure the many years to come.

My current favorites are the Opti stream 9’6, 4 piece Rod and Opti SpeedRunner reel and the Multi reel with the Opti switch rod (x grip).
Don’t let the x grip fool you..I find it very comfortable and easier to grip while landing a fish (especially when my hands are cold).
With this gear – I have found my casting and presentation a breeze, even after a long day of swinging bugs.

Not only is the construction of the gear of exceptional quality , so is the clothing!
I wear the Loop jackets – and I can truly say they are very comfortable, built for fly fishing, extremely durable and they look awesome as well!

I highly recommend Loop for any fly angler that is looking for the best of what’s out there in todays competitive fly fishing market.

Loop has me hooked!

See you out there –
